Eagle Nebula
The Eagle Nebula (AKA M16) is the subject of one of Hubble Space Telescope's most famous pictures. The dark pillar structures in the nebula are made up of interstellar hydrogen gas and dust. These areas of the Eagle Nebula are nurseries for new stars.
The Eagle Nebula is 6,500 light-years from Earth in the constellation Serpens.
